Untitled Novella: A Novella

A Beautiful Wedding (Beautiful, #2.5) - Jamie McGuire, Emma Gavin & Zachary Webber This is simply a must-read if you've read the rest of the series. It's a sweet, fun ending - like the sprinkles on top of your hot fudge sundae. So often, readers miss out on seeing the couple after the HEA is resolved. With A Beautiful Wedding, readers actually take the trip down the aisle with Abby and Travis. This is a short novella fans of the Beautiful series will not want to miss.

Torn from You (Tear Asunder, #1)

Torn from You (Tear Asunder, #1) - Nashoda Rose Torn From You read like two different stories or at least, there were distinctly two parts. Part one focused on Emily's time in captivity. Part two re-entered Emily's life two years after captivity. I agree with the recommendation to read "With You" first - it provides the background you need to connect to the couple. If you don't have this connection, you'll find it difficult to make it through the first half of Torn From You.

Broken World (#2, Broken Beauty Novellas)

Broken World (#2, Broken Beauty Novellas) - Lizzy Ford, Chloe Adams This series is powerful. It's written in short novellas - like pieces of cheesecake... you eat one and wish you could eat more but need time to digest this one first - and it's the perfect way to present this story. Since it deals with the serious subject of rape, it could be a trigger for some survivors. However, it's written with utmost care and accuracy. There is no sugar-coating the realities.

Old Loyalty, New Love

Old Loyalty, New Love - Mary Calmes I chose this book because of the blurb but I had no idea the complexity of the story that I was about to dive into. There are three strong story lines that could have been books in their own right:
- Roman's accident and subsequent struggles to heal and re-enter his life
- Quade's back story and resolution
- The pack story line.
I was amazed at the amount of information and the incredible way that Ms. Calmes wove them together.

Midnight Frost (Mythos Academy)

Midnight Frost - Jennifer Estep I have recommend this series to several people and all have loved it. You will too! HINT....if you need a holiday gift for a female young adult reader this would rock.

Wanted: A Most Wanted Novel

Wanted - J. Kenner Kenner masterfully provides an intriguing love story that is both sweet and spicy. Angelina and Evan are likable characters and as the sexual tension coils, it nearly palpitates off the page. Their relationship is complex in so many ways but is presented with clarity. The reasoning behind the intricacies of their physical relationship captured my attention - I think it was how the author presented it.

Almost Mine

Almost Mine - Lea Darragh Almost Mine takes a whole different perspective on the story of love. It was a bit sad at times actually, as it was told from the POV of Cate who didn't love Nick as he loved her. He knew but believed he could take care of her and she'd eventually come to love him for what he could provide. Cate and Nick had been friends since childhood and he'd loved her all those years. There is a lot of background information but it was provided without interrupting the flow of the story.

Recipe for Attraction (A Madewood Brothers Novel) (Entangled Brazen)

Recipe for Attraction - Gina Gordon Gina Gordon crafts a sexy, indulgent confection that has the reader hungrily gobbling up its pages. Well written with characters that have serious depth and appeal, this second in her Madewood series was well worth the wait! Having gone on my auto-buy list after the first installment, it is quite satisfying to return to her story world and enjoy the further exploits of the sexy foodies and the women who love them.

Dirty Deeds

Dirty Deeds - S.E. Jakes There is so much action, it is non-stop and a great beginning to this spin-off series. It will leave you sitting in a corner rocking back and forth murmuring "I need more". Jakes weaves espionage, betrayal and sex seamlessly and the way this one ended, all I could do was gasp! I have become an addict and I am NOT looking for a 12 step program.

Escape In You

Escape In You - Rachel Schurig Scenes bring smiles and tears. Readers will yearn for them to let go, to find a way to move forward and when finally it seems there may not be any hope, the author pulls off a believable and satisfying ending. The best news is that its a complete story without a cliffhanger!

Pony

Pony - S.J.D. Peterson This book dealt more with the psychology behind submitting to someone but still retaining you identity. Aiden's fear of losing himself had a very real feel to it. How do you give up so much control and still be you? It also deals with changing aspects of relationships. The way things start is not how it has to stay, but can you change the dynamic of a relationship once it has been established? Especially with one that is as set in rules as a D/s.

Rome (Marked Men, #3)

Rome (Marked Men, #3) - Jay Crownover I adored this story, mostly because of the unlikely pairing of these two characters. They were so opposite that they were imperfectly perfect for one another. The detailed characterization made me feel as if I knew them personally, something the author has done with each of her books in this series. Cora and Rome were cute at times, fun at times, frustrating at times but in the end, they were just right... right for each other.

Three Broken Promises: A Novel

Three Broken Promises - Monica Murphy After meeting the two main characters in the second book of the series, it was only fitting that Jen and Colin got their own story. While the book is part of Drew and Fable's series, the story was unique and entirely their own. While there were cameos of past characters, the focus remained on the building of a new relationship and the demons from the past that can get in your way. The story was poignant and revealed the evolution of love just as it happens.

Sweet Magik

Sweet Magik - Penny Watson During the holiday season, I crave books that bring me deeper into the season, That's exactly what this book did.
